Dragonfly in AmberI am in the middle of rereading the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon in preparation for the Stars Original Series premier Aug. 9th and for reading the new book that just came out: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood (MOBY).  I just meant to read the first book, Outlander and then refresh myself on the last couple of chapters of the last book (Echo in the Bone) and jump right in to MOBY, however that just didn’t seem to settle with me.  Once I finished the first book I dutifully started skimming through Echo so my book buddy and I could read MOBY together, but my heart wasn’t in it because it wanted the whole story again.  Well, the heart wants what the heart wants, so I pulled the second book out Dragonfly in Amber and was instantly sucked in. There wasn’t that sense of confusion and panic like the first time I read it because I knew what was going on, so I was able to settle down and enjoy it for what it was a little more.  There was still that sense of sorrow and aggravation that will probably never go away, but I found passages that were able to shine and capture me this time around because they were no longer obscured by all my panicked feelings.  I will share this particular passage and you will start to understand why I absolutely adore Diana Gabaldon’s writing. Dark LoverThe King

This is another of my favorite authors and series.  I discovered JR Ward in an online article and decided to check out her series: The Black Dagger Brotherhood.  I was a new reader at this time, so I had not been introduced to many genres or styles of writing.  The only series I had read were Eragon, Twilight, and Southern Vampire Series (True Blood books) in that order.  So I was gradually introduced to the romance world.  Well, let me tell you, with this series there was nothing gradual about it!
